May 17, 2024

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., motorists can expect three traffic control packages with alternating one-way traffic on Vermont Route 15 (VT 15) in Cambridge and Johnson within the project limits from the VT 15/VT108 junction in Cambridge to just east of the VT 100C intersection in the Village of Johnson.

 In observance of Memorial Day, crews will be off the roadway on Friday, May 24, by 12 p.m. and will return on-site on Tuesday, May 28, at 7:00 a.m.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use caution while traveling within the project area. Motorists are advised to expect delays in traffic and add extra time to their travel schedule.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews will continue conducting slope work, including ditching, clearing, and installing stone fill along VT 15 in Cambridge and Johnson. Crews will install new guardrail along VT 15 in Cambridge near the Vermont Agency of Transportation District #8 garage, moving west. Crews will also conduct ledge and rock removal along VT 15 just outside the Village of Johnson limits, continuing west.

LOCATION: Vermont Route 15 from the VT 15/VT108 junction in Cambridge, continuing 9.1 miles to a point east of the VT 100C intersection in the Village of Johnson.

 

May 10, 2024

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., motorists can expect three traffic control packages with alternating one-way traffic on Vermont Route 15 (VT 15) in Cambridge and Johnson within the project limits. Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use caution while traveling within the project area. Motorists are advised to expect delays in traffic and add extra time to their travel schedule.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews will continue to install underdrain and conduct slope work, including ditching, clearing, and installing stone fill, along VT 15 in Cambridge and move west. There is potential for crews to conduct ledge removal off of the roadway along VT 15 in Cambridge.

Crews will begin to install new guardrail along VT 15 in the Village of Johnson and continue west. Crews will be off-site within the village limits during peak commuting hours (6 - 8 a.m. and 4 - 6 p.m.).

LOCATION: Vermont Route 15 from the VT 15/ VT108 junction in Cambridge, continuing 9.1 miles to a point east of the VT 100C intersection in the Village of Johnson.

 

May 3, 2024

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Monday, May 6, through Friday, May 10, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., motorists can expect three traffic control packages with alternating one-way traffic on Vermont Route 15 (VT 15) in Cambridge and Johnson within the project limits. Motorists are advised to expect delays in traffic and add extra time to their travel schedule.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use caution while traveling within the project area.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Early next week, crews will install underdrain along a section of VT 15 close to the Johnson Farm and Garden store. By mid-week, they will relocate to another section of VT 15 near Hubbard Drive in Cambridge to continue the underdrain installation.

Throughout the week, slope work will be conducted along VT 15. The crews will start at Hunt Farm Drive, located near the town line between Cambridge and Johnson, and move west.

Beginning mid-week, crews will conduct drainage and rock removal work in Johnson, starting just east of Park Street and continuing west.

April 26, 2024

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting this spring, the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) will begin work to replace seven culverts in Cambridge and Johnson as part of separate projects to improve the roadway infrastructure.

This week, VTrans District #8 will be continuing work to replace a culvert on Vermont Route 15 by the Johnson Farm and Garden Store. The project teams are working in close coordination to minimize impacts to traffic throughout the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays in traffic and add extra time to their travel schedule.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use caution while traveling within the project area.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Friday, April 26, and Monday, April 29, crews will complete the installation of underdrain in Johnson. Crews will then conduct berm removal and ditching work in Johnson.

Throughout the week, two crews will be on-site in Cambridge to install underdrain along the corridor.

April 19, 2024

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Monday, April 22, through Friday, April 26, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., motorists can expect three traffic control packages with alternating one-way traffic on Vermont Route 15 (VT 15) in the Town of Johnson within the project limits. Motorists are advised to expect delays in traffic and add extra time to their travel schedule.

 Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use caution while traveling within the project area.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Multiple crews will be on-site, continuing the installation of underdrain and erosion control measures and beginning ditching and slope work along the corridor.

LOCATION: Vermont Route 15 from the VT 15/ VT108 junction in Cambridge, continuing 9.1 miles to a point east of the VT 100C intersection in the Village of Johnson.

 

April 12, 2024

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., motorists can expect up to two traffic control packages with alternating one-way traffic on Vermont Route 15 (VT 15) in the Town of Johnson, within the project limits.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and add extra time to their travel schedule. Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use caution while traveling within the project area.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews plan to install underdrain and erosion control measures along the roadway on VT 15 in the Town of Johnson.

April 5, 2024

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: There are no expected traffic impacts to Vermont Route 15 within the project limits throughout next week.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Tuesday, April 9, through Friday, April 12, during the daytime hours, there is potential for crews to mobilize and install construction signage within the project limits ahead of construction activities.

Project Announcement

PROJECT OVERVIEW: The Vermont Agency of Transportation is resurfacing Vermont Route 15 (VT 15) in Cambridge and Johnson, with construction scheduled to begin in April.

The project area extends along VT 15 from the VT 15 and VT 108 junction in Cambridge, VT (also referred to as Jeffersonville) east 9.1 miles to just past the intersection with VT 100C in the Village of Johnson.

The project includes road resurfacing along VT 15 within the Village of Johnson, reclamation and paving work along the eight-mile stretch of VT 15 from the village limits west toward Cambridge, replacement and maintenance of several culverts and guardrail, and ditching.


PROJECTED COMPLETION: Fall 2025
