Vermont Clean Water Initiative

Vermont Clean Water Initiative

In 2015, the Vermont Legislature passed Act 64, the Vermont Clean Water Act. This bill dedicates resources (staffing, funding, educational outreach) towards improving the quality of Vermont's waters and implementing the plan for Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) of phosphorous into Lake Champlain. The bill also includes funding for Regional Planning Commissions to work on water quality planning.
