What is Lamoille FiberNet?

Lamoille FiberNet is a Communications Union District (CUD), which is a municipality established by two or more towns for the purpose of delivering communications services together, regulated by Vermont Law (see 30 V.S.A Chapter 82).

In 2025, Lamoille FiberNet successfully completed its Universal Service Plan, ensuring that every on-grid address within its 10-town service area has access to at least one high-speed broadband provider. This milestone marked the culmination of a five-year effort, including a two-year construction partnership with Fidium Fiber, the company providing service in the Lamoille FiberNet district.

Our Vision: Every home and business in our territory will be connected to fast, reliable internet service.

Our Mission: To prioritize access to unserved and underserved addresses to symmetrical, high-speed, and affordable internet service—as soon as possible.

Our Strategy: To use grant funding and public/private partnerships to finance the construction, operation, and maintenance of a cost-effective, robust, and sustainable network, while providing oversight and leveraging our resources to serve our communities' current and future connectivity needs.

Our Service Area: Lamoille FiberNet includes the towns of Belvidere, Cambridge, Eden, Elmore, Hyde Park, Johnson, Morristown, Stowe, Waterville, and parts of Wolcott.
